6th World School Chess Championship Officially Started |
 6th World School Chess Championship has officially started.
After one moment of silence to show our respect to memory of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, followed by Turkish National anthem and FIDE anthem; the president of the Turkish Chess Federation Ali Nihat Yazıcı gave his opdning speech.
Mrs Hayrünnisa Gül, under whose auspices this tournament is organized, couldn't attend the opening ceremony due to another program, thus her message to the players was read. In her message she wished success to all players. After that, the message of the president of the Turkish Republic was read.
Following the speeches of the Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality of Kayseri Mehmet Özhaseki and the Govepnor of Kayseri Mevlüt Bilici, guests were invited to the coctail hall.
The governor was greeted by 4 players from 4 different continents with flowers.
&n`sp; The marching band greeted players and guests.
Before opening ceremony the president of the Turkish Chess Federation Ali Nihat Yazıcı and the governor of Kayseri Mevlüt Bilici played a chess game together.
After the opening ceremony the journalists and the TV reporters made interwiews with the president, Ali Nihat Yazici.
All around the world people will be able to watch 88 games live from the "Virtual Stadium" at Turkish Chess Federation's Tournament website.
